Nature of Work

The Administrative Assistant will work under supervision and assist with the basic office duties to help provide good customer service to clients and the community.

•Greet clients/visitors coming to facility

•Answer telephones

•Take messages for staff

•Give messages to appropriate individuals

•Address and label thank you notes

•Assist with some office filing

•Make copies as needed

•Help provide a pleasant atmosphere for the clients

•To accept and log in donations

•Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•Ability to take accurate messages.
•Be a good listener but restrain from giving advice
•Effective communication skills
•Some computer skills would be helpful but not required

Student Assistant II positions perform above-average duties of a complex nature requiring prior knowledge, skill, or training. Student Assistant II positions may be physically demanding and the work may be performed under difficult conditions. Students in these positions most often work with little to no supervision. This classification may be used while training for a higher level. This position does require the candidate to have Federal Work Study.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.
