Nature of Work

Clerical/Receptionist work: answering phones, filing, copying, typing, shredding, equipment upkeep, assisting 12 faculty members with tasks as requested, greeting and directing students and guests, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; must have a valid driver’s license and GPA of 2.0 or higher. Need exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred typing skills of 40 words per minute, and class schedule that permits work hours during lunches.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 20 pounds and use hand trucks to bring up copy paper boxes as needed.

FWS Student Assistant I positions include standard, routine duties which require minimal prior training or experience. Most often, FWS Student Assistant I positions work with other students and are frequently supervised. This position does require the candidate to have Federal Work Study.

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.
