Nature of Work

The student assistant will assist in working on various research projects. Work will consist of general laboratory maintenance, collecting insects from the field, sorting and identifying the insect collected, and maintaining insect colonies in the lab. In addition, the SA will operate general lab equipment, collect data, and communicate results.

Required Qualifications

The SA must be a Biology Major or Biology Minor and capable of working as part of a team or independently (following a period of adequate training).

Preferred Qualifications

Patience…some of the work is highly repetitive.

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.
