Nature of Work

The SA will serve as the first friendly face at the Student Services Front Desk providing excellent customer service to current and prospective students. This position will assist with answering general questions about UWG (majors offered, application deadlines, etc.), and services offered at UWG Newnan (shuttle, tutoring available, Writing Center, student activities, etc.).
This position will be assisting customers in person and over the phone.
This position will also assist with Newnan Center events such as Welcome Week, Family Fun Day, etc. Other duties may include administrative duties, organizing and inputting data.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current UWG student maintaining a 2.5 GPA.

Preferred Qualifications

Customer service experience.
Completed a minimum of 1 semester of classes at the UWG Newnan Center

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

FWS Student Assistant I positions include standard, routine duties which require minimal prior training or experience. Most often, FWS Student Assistant I positions work with other students and are frequently supervised. This position does require the candidate to have Federal Work Study.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.
